The government is holding consultations on reviewing interest rates on loans taken by Nepal Airlines Corporation as it looks to manage the carrier’s financial liabilities, Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Khadka Raj Poudel said.
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives’ International Relations and Tourism Committee on Monday, Poudel said the corporation’s debt from two large financial institutions could not be considered unmanageable. His remarks were reported from Kathmandu on October 5, 2026.

Poudel said the government was holding the necessary consultations on interest rates for loans taken by Nepal Airlines Corporation. He did not describe the debt as impossible to manage.
The minister made the comments during a committee discussion on the corporation’s financial liabilities.
