Nepal Eye Hospital screened 2,823 people on the occasion of World Sight Day 2026, extending eye health services to several community groups and locations.
The screening campaign covered inmates at Nakkhu Jail in Lalitpur, residents of an ageing care centre in Sukedhara, and students at Chamunda Secondary School in Gokarneshwor.
Expanding community access to eye care
The hospital said the campaign aimed to expand access to eye health services at the community level. By taking screenings to a jail, an ageing care centre and a school, the programme reached people in different settings.
