The Health Insurance Board will require citizens aged 16 and above to present a national identity card for enrolment, renewal and access to health insurance services from Poush 1, 2083.

National ID to Become Mandatory for Health Insurance from Poush 1, 2083

The Health Insurance Board has decided to make the national identity card mandatory for the health insurance programme from Poush 1, 2083 BS.

Citizens aged 16 and above will need to present their national ID when enrolling in the programme, renewing coverage and receiving health insurance services, according to a press note issued by the Board.

Health insurance details to be submitted online

The decision was taken at the Board’s second meeting. Under the new arrangement, all insured families will have to submit their details through the Board’s e-portal.

The requirement will apply from Poush 1, 2083 BS, according to the Board.
