Nepal needs a coordinated national approach to improve treatment for children with cancer, participants concluded at a symposium held in Kathmandu on September 29. They called for stronger coordination and expanded access to treatment to make care more effective.
The National Child Cancer Treatment and Stakeholder Participation Symposium was jointly organised by World Child Cancer and the Ramesh Gupta Memorial Trust, along with partner organisations.
Priorities highlighted at the symposium
Participants stressed the need to:
- Develop an integrated national approach to child cancer treatment.
- Strengthen coordination at the national level.
- Expand access to treatment for children with cancer.
The symposium’s conclusion underlined the importance of a joined-up response to improve the effectiveness of child cancer care in Nepal.
