More than 1,000 sheep and goats from upper Dolpa arrived in Jomsom on Saturday evening as livestock trade began in Mustang ahead of the Dashain festival.
Dolpa trader Sher Bahadur Rokaya said the journey took him more than a week. Livestock from upper Mustang is also expected to reach Jomsom by Saturday.
Dashain livestock trade begins in Mustang
The arrival marks the start of the seasonal sheep and goat trade in Mustang as Dashain approaches. The herd was brought to Jomsom from upper Dolpa, according to Rokaya.
More sheep and goats are expected to arrive from upper Mustang, adding to the livestock being brought to Jomsom for the festival season.
