Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Deepak Sah has pledged to remove legal and procedural obstacles facing Nepal’s industry sector, saying the government aims to create an investment-friendly environment.
Speaking at a meeting of the Industry, Commerce and Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee in Kathmandu on October 5, 2026, Sah said the government recognizes the need to update laws, procedures and working styles in line with changing times.
Government and private sector urged to work together
Sah described the government’s role as one of facilitation, regulation and policy-making. He identified the private sector as a key partner in production, investment, employment and innovation.
He said the government and private sector must work together to identify and resolve problems in the industry sector.
