Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal has said the government is working to create a more conducive environment for development and investment by reforming existing laws in Nepal.
Speaking at a workshop in Kathmandu on Friday, Lamsal said investment and development-related problems would be addressed through legal means. He also said laws would not be made to benefit middlemen.
Legal reforms for investment and development
The Ministry of Infrastructure Development organised the workshop, titled “Legal Reforms for Investment and Development Related to Nepal Infrastructure Summit 2026.”
Lamsal said the government intends to make legal provisions clearer and more effective. Words such as “will happen” in laws would be replaced with mandatory language, he said.
The minister’s remarks focused on using legal reforms to address barriers to investment and development and to create an environment more supportive of infrastructure projects.
