Agriculture, Forest and Environment Minister Gita Chaudhary met representatives of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) from the United States and Nepal at the ministry in Kathmandu on Tuesday to discuss Nepal’s recent floods and other disasters, reconstruction, and environmental priorities.
The talks also covered biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and the management of forests and wildlife. The ministry said the two sides discussed opportunities for future cooperation.
Technology and wildlife management
Chaudhary said modern technology and scientific management are necessary to address human-wildlife conflict. The meeting also addressed broader forest and wildlife management issues.
Focus on climate resilience and reconstruction
The discussion linked disaster recovery with longer-term environmental work, including rebuilding after recent floods and disasters and strengthening climate resilience. Biodiversity conservation was another key topic.
The ministry did not announce specific agreements or projects following the meeting.
