Dr Minendra Rijal has withdrawn his candidacy for a party office in the Nepali Congress following a discussion with party president Gagan Thapa in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening.
Rijal confirmed to Khabarhub that he withdrew his candidacy after the meeting. He had filed his candidacy earlier that day.
During their discussion, Thapa told Rijal that he is an essential figure in the Nepali Congress and did not need to contest for a party office.
