Crude oil exports from the Middle East, excluding Iran, have risen despite attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, according to maritime traffic monitoring organisation Kepler.
More than 18 million barrels per day were exported from the region in recent days. That is above the September average, when daily crude exports from the Middle East excluding Iran were at least 16.5 million barrels.
Exports remain high amid Strait of Hormuz attacks
The reported increase comes as ships have faced attacks in the Strait of Hormuz. The figures cited by Kepler show that crude exports from the region have continued at a higher level than the September average despite the attacks.
The export figures exclude Iran and refer to crude oil shipments from the rest of the Middle East.
