The Private Medical and Dental College Association of Nepal has demanded an investigation into allegations raised by House of Representatives member Rahbar Ansari against National Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Birgunj.
Ansari alleged in the House that people who did not work at the college had been presented as faculty members to obtain postgraduate (PG) seats. He also alleged that fake documents were submitted during inspections by the Medical Education Commission. These claims have not been established in the information available.
College says it is ready for impartial examination
National Medical College said it was ready for an impartial examination of what it described as misleading issues raised by Ansari. In a statement, the college expressed objection and concern over the allegations and said it would respond to all the claims made by the lawmaker during the House meeting.
The association’s call for an investigation and the college’s response follow Ansari’s allegations concerning faculty records, PG seats and documents presented during inspections.
