Mahesh Kharel, mayor of Panchkhal Municipality and regional chairman of Kavrepalanchok-2, has announced his candidacy for central member in the Nepali Congress's 15th General Convention.
Kharel said he would work to end factionalism within the party and restore the Congress's diminished credibility. He also called for an end to party-based sharing in constitutional bodies and said the party should uphold the thoughts and principles of BP Koirala.
