Lumbini Province will run a skin disease screening campaign in all districts, with a focus on eliminating leprosy, Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya has announced. The campaign aims to identify new cases and ensure patients receive treatment across the province.
Speaking at a programme organised by the Nepal Law Society, Acharya said the number of leprosy patients is declining, but more effective efforts are still needed to detect and treat the disease.

The province-wide screening drive will cover all districts in Lumbini. Its stated aims are to find new cases and ensure treatment for people identified with skin diseases, prioritising leprosy elimination.
