Lumbini Province has issued a 13-point Deukhuri Declaration aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of health services and making them more technology-friendly. The declaration also emphasizes citizens’ right to health.
It was released after the Ministry of Health completed its provincial-level annual review of health programmes conducted in fiscal year 2082/83. Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya inaugurated the review programme and spoke about the health sector.
Focus on accessible and quality healthcare
The declaration sets out commitments intended to strengthen health services across the province. Its stated priorities include making care more accessible and responsive to citizens’ needs, while using technology to support service delivery.
The announcement followed the review of provincial health programmes, bringing the declaration alongside an assessment of the work carried out during the fiscal year.
