Large vehicles will be prohibited from operating on the Narayanghat-Kathmandu road section from Asoj 25 to Kartik 8 during the Dashain festival period.
The restriction, which runs from Ghatasthapana through Purnima, applies to trucks, trailers and other large vehicles. It was decided at a stakeholder meeting at the Department of Transport Management on Tuesday.
Why the restriction was introduced
The measure aims to ease traffic congestion on the route as vehicle pressure increases during Dashain. The restriction will remain in effect throughout the specified festival period.
