Nepali Congress lawmaker Krishna Prasad Poudel was sworn in as chairperson of the parliamentary special committee studying and monitoring disasters related to the Bhotekoshi and Kaligandaki corridors on Thursday.
National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal administered the oath of office and secrecy to Poudel at Singha Durbar.
Committee formed to study corridor-related disasters
The nine-member special committee was formed by a meeting of the National Assembly on Asoj 16 under Rule 167 of the National Assembly Regulations, 2075. Poudel was elected unopposed as the committee’s chairperson.
The committee’s mandate is to study and monitor disasters related to the Bhotekoshi and Kaligandaki corridors.
