Koshi Province Government Still Lacks Its Own Administrative Buildings After Nine Years

Nearly nine years after the province was established, the Koshi Province Government has yet to build its own administrative buildings. The permanent capital was declared in 2076 BS, but most ministries and constitutional commissions continue to operate from rented private houses and old federal government buildings.

The Ministry of Health pays around Rs 1.21 million to Rs 1.30 million per month to rent a private house in Biratnagar, according to the report.

Land Sought for Permanent Buildings

An official said the government is still looking for land. Permanent structures for the provincial government will be built once land is available.
