The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has introduced a special traffic awareness and road safety plan for the Kathmandu Marathon, scheduled for Saturday, Ashoj 24.
The office said the event is expected to draw large numbers of runners, spectators and members of the public. Vehicle movement along the race route may be affected during the marathon.
Road users urged to follow traffic rules
The traffic police have urged road users to follow traffic rules and remain aware of the event as the marathon takes place. The special plan is intended to support safety and traffic awareness during the race.
