Police authorities in Kathmandu and Dhanusha have announced special security plans for Dashain, Tihar and Chhath. The plans were made public on October 2, 2026, ahead of the festival period.
The District Police Range Kathmandu and the District Police Complex Kathmandu released the Kathmandu plans, which include 13 safety tips for travelers. A Ratopati report says 3,500 police officers are being mobilized in Kathmandu for Dashain and Tihar security.
Dhanusha Police in Janakpurdham has also implemented a special security plan for Bada Dashain, Tihar and Chhath.
