Kaligandaki Bridge Approach Road on Tanahun Side to Be Rebuilt

The approach road on the Tanahun side of the bridge over the Kaligandaki River is set to be rebuilt after flooding damaged the route and stopped vehicles from using the bridge.

The bridge connects Ghriring in Tanahun district with Baudikali in Nawalpur district. The damaged approach road disrupted traffic between the two districts and affected travel between Nawalpur and Pokhara via Tanahun.

Flood damage disrupted bridge traffic

The approach road was damaged by flooding on Ashoj 11. With vehicles unable to use the bridge, the disruption affected people travelling between Tanahun and Nawalpur as well as those using the route to reach Pokhara from Nawalpur via Tanahun.

Reconstruction planned

Reconstruction work is planned to restore the approach road and reopen the route for traffic. The bridge provides a connection between Ghriring and Baudikali, making the Tanahun-side road essential for access across the Kaligandaki River.
