Former Karnali Province chief minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has filed his candidacy for vice-general secretary of the Nepali Congress at the party's 15th general convention.
Shahi registered his nomination on Tuesday at the National Assembly building in Kathmandu. He said he would work to ensure effective representation for backward regions and strengthen Karnali Province, according to reports by Ratopati and Khabarhub.

Shahi is a central member of the Nepali Congress and previously served as chief minister of Karnali Province. His stated priorities for the party role include stronger representation for backward regions and a stronger Karnali Province.
