The Department of Water Resources and Irrigation has introduced a special groundwater irrigation program aimed at promoting agricultural entrepreneurship among youth who have returned from foreign employment. Returning migrant youth farmers will receive high priority under the initiative.
The department operates under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and has prepared the Agricultural Entrepreneurs' Special Groundwater Irrigation Program Plan Selection Guideline, 2083 to implement the program.
Priority for returning migrant farmers
The initiative is designed to encourage agricultural entrepreneurship among young people returning from overseas jobs. The department's guideline sets out the plan selection framework for the special groundwater irrigation program.
Returning migrant youth farmers are specifically given high priority under the program.
