An aircraft operated by Iraq’s national flag carrier landed at Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran on Thursday, marking the first arrival by a foreign commercial airline in Iran since the war in the Middle East began, Iranian state media reported.
The flight departed from Najaf, Iraq. It was able to operate after the United States granted the Iraqi airline special permission to fly to Iran.

The aircraft arrived at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport, according to Iranian state media. The flight represents a resumption of commercial air travel to Iran by a foreign airline since the start of the conflict.
