Flydubai captain Smit Machchar has been moved from Saudi Arabia to the UAE after receiving medical clearance, the airline said. Machchar was injured in a knife attack during a September 30 flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
Flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith issued a statement confirming the transfer. The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia said Machchar had been hospitalised in Tabuk, in northwestern Saudi Arabia, and was in stable condition while receiving necessary treatment.
What happened on the Flydubai flight
The attack took place aboard a flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv. Flydubai said all 172 passengers and crew on board were unharmed.
Machchar’s condition and transfer
