The Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) has sent teams of doctors and staff to mountain areas in the Himalayan region to support trekkers and climbers. The teams include local and foreign volunteers and are prepared to provide information about common health problems and treatment when needed.
HRA Chief Executive Officer Govinda Basyal said the deployment is intended to help people taking part in trekking and mountaineering in the region.
Health support for trekkers and climbers
The teams will share information about health problems that may occur during time in the mountains, including altitude sickness, diarrhea and fever. They will also offer treatment if required.
The initiative is aimed at climbers and trekkers who may need health guidance or medical support while in the Himalayan region.
