Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has warned that anyone who leaks confidential or sensitive state information from the Ministry of Home Affairs and its subordinate bodies will be brought under the law.
In a statement posted on Facebook on Tuesday, Gurung said he had been observing the practice for a long time and that no one would be granted impunity.
Gurung calls sensitive information a public responsibility
Gurung said sensitive state information is a public responsibility, not anyone’s private property. He added that leaking it amounts to betraying the country and the organisation.
The warning applies to those responsible for leaks from the Ministry of Home Affairs and bodies under its authority. Gurung said they would face legal action.
