The Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) has deployed a team of doctors to health posts in the Himalayan region to provide information and treatment for health problems that can affect trekkers and mountaineers.
The doctors will serve at health posts in Feriche and Solukhumbu, according to the association. HRA Chief Executive Officer Govinda Basyal said the team had been sent to work at the posts.
Health support for trekkers and mountaineers
The team will provide information and treatment for conditions that can arise during trekking and mountaineering, including:
- Altitude sickness
- Diarrhoea
- Fever
The deployment is intended to make medical support available to people travelling in the Himalayan region.
