Heavy rain and hail in Kathmandu disrupted the third day of the Nepali Congress 15th General Convention on Tuesday, interrupting activities at the National Assembly premises as delegates filed nominations for various posts.
Delegates, party leaders and supporters who had gathered for candidate nomination registration were forced to take shelter inside the hall and beneath tarpaulins. The downpour came as the convention’s closed session was being wrapped up and nomination filings were underway.
Rain interrupts convention activities
The weather affected the proceedings at the convention venue, where party members had assembled for the day’s scheduled activities. With heavy rain and hail falling, those gathered outdoors sought shelter in the hall or under tarpaulins.
The disruption coincided with two key stages of the gathering: the conclusion of the closed session and the filing of nominations for different party posts.
