The government has decided to send an investigation committee report on the possible withdrawal of criminal cases filed in connection with the Gen-Z movement to the Home Ministry for implementation.
The decision was made at a Cabinet meeting held on Monday at Singha Durbar. Government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel said the report would be forwarded to the ministry for necessary implementation.
Committee examined possible case withdrawals
The committee, chaired by former judge Baburam Regmi, studied whether criminal cases against Gen-Z protesters could be withdrawn. The government’s decision sends the committee’s report to the Home Ministry; it does not, by itself, confirm that the cases have been withdrawn.
