The government has directed concerned agencies to ensure essential services operate regularly during the festival season, saying the move is intended to prevent hardship for the public.
The directive was announced at a Friday press briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar. Hemraj Aryal, joint secretary and spokesperson for the office, said the instruction was issued to help people avoid difficulties during the festivals.
Essential services to remain operational
The directive covers services including:
- Health services and hospitals
- Drinking water and electricity
- Telecommunications
- Airports and transport
Aryal said the relevant agencies had been instructed to maintain regular operations during the festival period.
