The government has decided to introduce a special price adjustment for the construction sector, according to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development. The measure applies to petroleum products, bitumen, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes, cement and steel rods, whose prices rose abnormally amid international conflict and supply chain disruptions.
The decision was made under Section 55, Subsection 1(a) of the Public Procurement Act, 2063.
Materials covered by the adjustment
The special price adjustment covers:
- Petroleum products
- Bitumen
- HDPE pipes
- Cement
- Steel rods
The ministry said the adjustment addresses abnormal price increases associated with international war and disruptions to supply chains.
