Surendra Raj Pandey, Chief Minister of Gandaki Province and a central member of the Nepali Congress, has announced his candidacy for the post of party vice president at the Nepali Congress's 15th General Convention.
The convention began on Sunday at Khulamanch in Kathmandu. Pandey had previously been close to former party president Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka. Since the party's special convention, he has been active under the leadership of party president Gagan Thapa.
