Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has blamed the repeated rotation of the same faces in power and party leadership for fueling public discontent, saying the trend made Nepal’s politics resemble a game of musical chairs.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention in Kathmandu, Thapa said the public had come to feel that all political parties and leaders were alike and “all are bad.” He said the situation of Bhadra 23 and 24 arose against the backdrop of that discontent.
Thapa calls for a fresh political direction
Thapa said the 15th General Convention should be used to review the party’s past weaknesses and move the Nepali Congress forward on a new political journey.
His remarks linked the public’s frustration with recurring leadership patterns to the need for reflection and change within the party.
