Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has prepared a political report containing 29 proposals to present at the party’s 15th general convention. The political report sets out the party’s political, ideological, organisational and economic direction for the next four years.
The report includes a warning to the government and proposals to restructure the Nepali Congress. It also reviews the party’s past and calls for a new political culture and working style.
Report reflects on the party’s relationship with the public
The report acknowledges that the Nepali Congress has grown more distant from the people. It attributes that distance to politics focused on power, positions, factions and access.
Thapa’s report proposes moving beyond those patterns as the party sets its direction for the coming four years.
Key areas covered by the 29 proposals
The report’s proposals address:
- The party’s political and ideological direction
- Organisational and economic priorities
- Restructuring the Nepali Congress
- A warning to the government
- A new political culture and working style
