Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Ravi Lamichhane have traded barbs over RSP lawmakers who previously belonged to or were trained by the Congress.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Nepali Congress's 15th general convention at Khulamanch in Kathmandu, Thapa claimed that around 40 to 50 leaders trained by the Congress are now RSP MPs. Responding to an issue raised by Lamichhane, Thapa said many RSP leaders had once applauded on Congress platforms.
Amresh Kumar Singh hits back
RSP MP Amresh Kumar Singh responded to Thapa on Facebook, saying leaders had left the Congress because it had been handed over to swindlers, corrupt figures and contractors. Singh also said he himself had been forced to leave the party.
