Police have arrested four people accused of defrauding victims of Rs 3.489 million by promising to send them abroad for employment. The suspects allegedly collected money from victims seeking jobs in the United Kingdom, Romania, Australia, Canada and Poland.
The arrests were made by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, according to police.
Who was arrested?
The arrested suspects are Virendra Tamang of Kavrepalanchok, Kamal Prasad Gautam of Makwanpur, Ganesh Bahadur Budha of Achham and Badri Kumar Tamang of Ramechhap.
Alleged foreign employment scam
Police said the four allegedly took money from victims after promising to arrange foreign employment. The total amount involved in the alleged fraud is Rs 3.489 million.
