The Former Planners Forum has urged the government to support the creation of a dedicated mountain climate fund for regions heavily affected by climate change.
The forum made the call at a programme titled “From Bhote Koshi to Resilience: A Call for Climate Justice,” held in Kathmandu on October 6, 2026. It also called for global-level advocacy to establish the special fund.
Call for climate finance for mountain regions
The forum's demand focuses on a dedicated funding mechanism for mountain areas facing the effects of climate change. It drew the government's attention to the need for the fund and urged it to take the issue to the global level.
