Floods and Landslides Disrupt Schooling for 1,000 Students in Baglung

Around 1,000 students in Nisikhola Rural Municipality-4 of Baglung have had their education disrupted by floods and landslides. The disaster damaged homes, roads and school facilities, leaving children in the area affected by both the destruction and its impact on their schooling.

Sandip Regmi, a student at Little Rose English Boarding School in Jhiwakhola, has been unable to attend classes since the Ashoj 11 flood destroyed his home and school materials. The flood also damaged the school.

Flood damage affects students and schools

Many children in the area have been affected after seeing homes, schools and roads swept away or buried. The damage has disrupted education for students across the municipality ward, with Sandip among those unable to return to school.
