Repairs to the flood-damaged Dumre–Besisahar–Chame road in Lamjung are expected to take about a week before the route is fully operational, officials have estimated. The road was damaged at several locations after four days of continuous rainfall triggered floods, landslides and river cutting.
The Dumre–Besisahar–Chame Road Project has started clearing landslides and repairing damaged sections. Work is reported to be progressing quickly.
Sections damaged by floods and landslides
Damage was reported along stretches including:
- Dumre–Rambazar
- Rambazar–Syange
- Khotro in Naso Rural Municipality
The project is working to clear affected areas and repair the road so traffic can resume along the route. Officials estimate that bringing the road fully into operation will take about a week.
