Flood Damage to Kolpukhola Bridge Puts Locals at Risk

The Kolpukhola bridge on the boundary between Dhading and Nuwakot has been damaged by flooding, leaving locals to cross at risk. The flood, which came down the Bhote Koshi and into the Trishuli River on Bhadra 10, tilted the old bridge and also affected the newer one.

The crossing lies on the Galchhi–Trishuli–Mailung road, a main route linking Dhading and Nuwakot with Rasuwa. Two concrete bridges - an old one and a new one - stand at Kolpukhola.

Flood damage affects both bridges

The flooding tilted the old bridge and affected the new bridge as well. With the crossing damaged, locals are still being forced to travel across it at risk.

Key route to Rasuwa

The Kolpukhola crossing is part of the Galchhi–Trishuli–Mailung road, which connects Dhading and Nuwakot to Rasuwa. The damage has affected a bridge on this important route.
