The six-megawatt Relekhola Hydropower Project in Narchyang, Myagdi, has stopped generating electricity after floodwaters entered and damaged its dam.
The project, located in Annapurna Rural Municipality-4, has been out of operation since the rain and floods of September 24-27, project chief Darshan Kafle said. The damage occurred at the dam at the base of Relekhola.
Flood damage stops power generation
Floodwaters entering the dam brought production at the project to a complete halt. The facility has not generated electricity since the floods, according to Kafle.
