Himalayan Sports Management has announced the Everest Rugby Legacy campaign in Kathmandu, aiming to develop rugby in Nepal from the grassroots to the international level. The initiative will run under the slogan “From Himalayas to the World.”
Scheduled from November 2026 to April 2028, the campaign will be run by Play Rugby Nepal under Himalayan Sports Management, in coordination with the Nepal Rugby Association. Its plans include promoting sports tourism and setting a world record by playing rugby in the Everest region.
Everest Rugby Legacy campaign plans
The campaign is designed to support rugby development across Nepal, with a focus on building the sport from grassroots participation through to the international stage. Its planned Everest-region rugby event is also intended to connect the sport with Nepal’s tourism appeal.
Himalayan Sports Management chairperson Binod was named at the announcement event.
