Engineer Krishna Narayan Yadav Charged Over Rs 50,000 Bribe

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Krishna Narayan Yadav, an engineer at the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Itahari Distribution Center in Sunsari, over an alleged Rs 50,000 bribe.

The case was filed at the Special Court in Kathmandu on Monday. Yadav is accused of demanding and accepting the money from a service seeker in exchange for facilitating a 20 kV power line connection for a garment industry.

CIAA spokesperson Suresh Neupane confirmed that the case had been filed.

Details of the alleged bribery case

According to the CIAA’s allegation, the payment was sought in connection with arranging the power line connection for the garment industry. The case now proceeds at the Special Court in Kathmandu.
