Nepal’s anti-corruption commission has filed a case at the Special Court against Kageshwari Manohara Municipality engineer Deepa Karki and two alleged middlemen over a bribery case linked to house construction approvals.

Engineer Deepa Karki and Two Alleged Brokers Charged in Kageshwari Corruption Case

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case at the Special Court against engineer Deepa Karki of Kageshwari Manohara Municipality in Kathmandu and two alleged middlemen, Asma Karki and Ashish Poudel.

The case was filed on Friday. Karki, who headed the municipality’s building construction and settlement development branch, is accused of taking bribes in connection with approvals for structural analysis and other house construction work. Asma Karki and Ashish Poudel are accused of acting as middlemen.

Allegations against the municipal engineer

The allegations concern work related to house construction approvals in Kageshwari Manohara Municipality. The CIAA has brought the case against all three at the Special Court.
