Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has directed bodies under his ministry to accelerate budget and programme implementation, citing low financial progress. The directive was issued in Kathmandu on September 30, 2026.
Shrestha also called on the subordinate bodies to move energy projects forward as they work to improve implementation.

The instructions were directed to the bodies under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation. The minister’s call emphasized speeding up the delivery of programmes and budgeted activities while advancing energy projects.
