Chief Election Commissioner Manbahadur Karki said the Election Commission has begun internal preparations for the upcoming local-level elections and remains continuously prepared to conduct elections.
Speaking to journalists at the Election Commission on Thursday, Karki said the commission is engaged in the preparation process. He added that it cannot yet be said with certainty whether provincial and local elections will be held simultaneously.
Provincial and local election timing remains uncertain
Karki did not confirm that the two levels of elections would take place at the same time. The Election Commission’s internal preparations for local polls are underway, while the question of holding provincial and local elections together remains undecided.
