Education Minister Says Deskbound Policymaking Ignores Ground Reality

Education and Sports Minister Sasmit Pokharel has said policy and structural reforms in higher education are moving ahead rapidly, while warning that deskbound policymaking can overlook ground realities.

Speaking at a high-level dialogue programme organised by the Ministry of Education and Sports in Simara on October 6, Pokharel said work was underway to draft a new act.

Higher education reform underway

Pokharel said the government was moving forward with policy and structural changes in higher education. The drafting of a new act is among the work currently underway.
