Dr Sunil Sharma has announced his candidacy for the post of general secretary at the Nepali Congress’s 15th general convention. He made the announcement at a press conference on Saturday at the party office in Sanepa, Kathmandu, and also shared his decision on social media.
Sharma said his campaign aims to institutionalise the transformation demanded by the times and bring the party closer to the people. He urged party leaders, cadres and well-wishers to join him.
Sharma’s campaign priorities
In announcing his bid, Sharma called for change within the Nepali Congress and a stronger connection between the party and the public. He appealed to party members and supporters to take part in the effort.
The candidacy announcement comes ahead of the party’s 15th general convention, where the general secretary post will be contested.
