Nepali Congress leader Dr Minendra Rijal has announced that he will contest for the post of party vice-president at the upcoming 15th general convention. Rijal said he has decided to run for the position this time after contesting for general secretary at the previous convention.
Rijal’s previous convention bid
At the 14th general convention, Rijal contested for general secretary on the panel of Shekhar Koirala but was defeated. Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma won the two general secretary posts.
Thapa is now a candidate for Nepali Congress president at the upcoming convention.
