Dr Dilli Harijan has begun a second hunger strike, saying the government has not implemented agreements reached over the demands of intern and resident doctors.
The demands include adequate living allowances and other facilities for MBBS students completing one-year internships in hospitals. The strike also covers demands raised by MBBS and BDS intern doctors.
Demands of intern doctors
Intern doctors are seeking adequate allowances and facilities during their hospital placements. The internship for MBBS students lasts one year, according to the demands outlined in the dispute.
Harijan says the agreements reached with the government on the doctors' demands remain unimplemented.
